There are plenty of guides out there on how to find the perfect bathing suit to fit your unique body type, shape, size, etc. however it’s essential to understand that we all come in different shapes and we should embrace our differences rather than stress about them because there is no universal ideal body. Summer goes by in a flash, so let’s not waste our time worrying and just get outside and enjoy! It’s too hot out to not strip down to your swim-skivvies and get a little wet. Swimwear has changed dramatically in recent years and with each season more and more new trends, details, and styles emerge. Here is the low down on what to expect in 2015.
1) Statement: bright, bold, detailed. You will be easily recognized if you opt for statement swimwear. Designers are really getting creative with new ways to turn heads on the beach. From tiny cutouts, to intensely strappy details, or gemstones galore, it won’t be hard to get noticed no matter where you go. It’s no longer about letting it all hang out and showing the most skin, a one-piece can be just as sexy and eye catching as a bikini. Try one with a fun graphic and stand out from the crowd.
2) Sport: Not just for beach volleyballers anymore. Sporty swim is on the rise, much like wearing yoga pants while not doing yoga. Color blocking, zip up tops, and mesh cut-outs are what add some spice to the sport swimwear of old. If you’re not the type of person that loves those ultra-feminine, fluttery bandeau tops, then a sport-inspired swimsuit may be just what you need.
3) Emphasize, Enhance, Cover: Today’s swim is so much more than just a one piece or two piece. Swimwear designers really take into consideration women’s bodies and have created so many options based on your needs or preferences. You can cover up the parts you are self conscious about, emphasize your best features, and enhance where you feel you may be lacking.
The market is full of anything from slimming silhouettes to full coverage tops so you can hold it all together while at the beach or pool. If you want to show that all those squats are paying off, opt for a Brazilian bottom that offers minimal coverage and maximum sexiness. For all my fellow small chested girls, you can find tops that are push-up padded to enhance your figure. No matter what you’re self conscious about, there’s a way to mask it with the diversity of today’s swimwear.
It’s important to know that you don’t have to wear what society tells you is right for your body. If you feel comfortable and confident in something then there is no reason why you shouldn’t wear it.
